About Us
Healthcare doesn’t need more critics. It needs more partners.
We’re nurses who spent more than a decade on the floor before deciding to do something different with what we’ve learned. We’ve experienced burnout. We’ve watched leaders struggle without training, and we’ve seen, what’s possible in units and teams when the right kind of support shows up.
Ford & Fernandes Consulting is the partner we wished existed for the nurses working hard every day. Honest, evidence-based, and built by people who actually understand what they are going through.
Why we’re here
Nurses come into healthcare to take care of people. Most of them leave because of everything that gets in the way of doing that well. Understaffing, exhaustion, the constant feeling that nobody is listening when something is wrong. Leaders see this too. They’re often the ones trying their hardest to fix it with the same limited support.
We’ve stood on both sides of that gap. We know what it feels like to be the nurse running on fumes, and we know what it looks like when a manager is promoted into leadership without the training to do it well. Neither of those people is the problem. They’re both the reason this work matters.
Ford & Fernandes Consulting exists to close the space between what nurses need and what leaders are equipped to give them. We’re not here to point at what’s broken. We’re here to do the work alongside the people trying to make it better.
Who we are
I’ve spent more than a decade in nursing across geriatric care, flu clinics, triage, travel nursing and telehealth. Different settings, same throughline: I kept watching nurses give everything they had to a system that wasn’t giving much back. I went back for an MBA and I’m now in a doctorate program in organizational leadership psychology because I wanted to understand the deeper question: why are the systems we work in failing the people inside them, and what can actually be done about it. That’s the work I bring to Ford & Fernandes Consulting. The clinical reality of nursing plus the behavioral and organizational science of why teams thrive or break.

I’ve spent ten years in some of the highest-acuity environments in healthcare. The emergency department, the ICU, and medical-surgical units. I know what it looks like when a unit is running well and what it looks like when it’s barely holding on. I paired that frontline experience with an MBA because I wanted to understand the operational and business side of healthcare, the side most clinical nurses never see. At Ford & Fernandes, I bring both: the lived reality of what’s happening on the unit, and the operational lens of what it takes to actually run one well.

What working with us looks like
When organizations bring us in, here’s what they can expect.
Your team isn’t a case study or a contract number. When we’re with you, we’re with you. Every engagement gets the same level of preparation, care, and honest thinking.
We bring our full attention.
Every workshop, every coaching engagement, every conversation draws from years of nursing experience and our formal educational training. We’re not delivering a script. We’re bringing what we know.
We bring everything we have.
We don’t show up as outside experts telling your people what’s wrong with them. We show up as nurses who get it, working with your team to find what actually helps. Compassion is the starting point, not the marketing line.
We work alongside your team.
No two healthcare organizations are the same, and no two teams are the same. We build every workshop and every coaching engagement around what your people actually need, not a template we hand out to everyone.
Every engagement is customized.
